  • Dean is a master at making the complex simple - and as a Capture Director, he does that a lot.

    Today he helps Capture the visions of our North Island clients, overseeing projects from Civil Engineering design & consenting, to construction and completion.

    Dean’s environmental science insights and years of experience as a Civil Engineer and LD Engineering Manager, mean he’s a fount of environmental and land development wisdom!

Kerryn McPherson

Senior Engineer/ Project Manager,
Auckland

  • Meet Senior Engineer, Kerryn. She loves nothing more than seeing people thrive in the communities that she's helped to create.

    Specialising in Land Development, Kerryn has over 24 years’ experience as a surveyor and engineer in Auckland. She is also the first female and first Auckland based land development engineer to obtain the Certified Professional LDE qualification – no mean feat!

    Today, she uses her expertise and finely-tuned skills in Design, Project Management and Client Relations to support Capture’s clients in Auckland. From the very first consultation to the final sign-off, she manages every angle of a project with ease.

    Loves:
    Spending time with my husband and kids in the motorhome at a picturesque NZ location, biking, kayaking and a little bit of land development on the side.

Ken Middeldorp

  • Calm, cool and collected - when it comes to holding every project element together, Ken’s your man!

    A love of learning has led him to work all over the world, collecting an array of skills along the way including completing an engineering degree…in French!

    A qualified Builder, Carpenter, and a master at AutoCad. Is there anything Ken can’t do?! Luckily, he gets to use most of his skills at Capture!

Sonja Perrin

Resource Management Planner, Christchurch

  • As Capture’s Resource Management Planner, Sonja is our go-to guru for ensuring that all the right pieces slot together to achieve the best outcomes for our Clients!

    With over 25 years’ experience, and both a Town Planning Degree and Resource Management Certificate, Sonja’s understanding of the legal landscape surrounding every plan is second-to-none.

    With all that knowledge and experience under her belt, she can always see the bigger picture - and knows exactly how to make it a reality. (We haven’t yet found a consent, compliance or planning problem that she can’t solve!)

    Conscientious, determined and curious, Sonja loves collaborating in a team with other professionals, (including surveyors and engineers), and is always happy to share her knowledge.

    Loves:

    The environment – and exploring it when sailing and tramping!
    Applying her knowledge to improve lives of people living in poverty. One of her career highlights was when she was elected to work with the United Nations on an early warning flooding system for Mozambique in collaboration with a cross border international team from Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

Salil Dhungel

Surveyor,
Christchurch

  • Whether he's scaling peaks or scaling maps, Salil has always been drawn to the land and its endless potential.

    With over 8 years’ experience, Salil has worked extensively in cadastral surveys and subdivisions. Today, as a valued Capture surveyor, our clients appreciate his expertise in managing Land Transfer projects from inception to completion - and for doing so with enthusiasm, precision and efficiency at every stage!

    Salil loves working with his Capture colleagues, and we love his fresh skills and adaptability. He also enjoys collaborating with engineers, architects, planners, project managers, and lawyers. For Salil it’s this great diversity of talent and projects, plus the many opportunities to be out in the field, that keep his role so exciting and dynamic.

    Never one to rest on his laurels, Salil plans to add to his New Zealand Diploma in Civil Engineering and his Bachelor of Surveying, by obtaining his Cadastral license this year.

    Playing football, hiking mountains, and enjoying the outdoors with a cold beer. He has an exceptional sense of direction and (when he finds his way home) enjoys whipping up a BBQ feast. He is also passionate about environmentalism and human rights.

  • Dan loves getting stuck into design work. And with his focus nicely honed on the golf course, his plans are always a hole in one!

    At Capture, he spends his time designing, supervising, and producing great plans, but is always up for some surveying too. He loves the wide variety of work at Capture and never misses an opportunity for site visits.

    Playing golf, surfing (though not so much in the winter months). Working on his house renovations.

Geoff Bacon

Senior Survey Technician,

  • If it involves surveys, Geoff’s your man! With his extensive career, eye for detail and love of learning, he’s perfectly suited to the wide range of survey-related challenges that regularly come his way at Capture.

    Passionate, conscientious, and impatient (in the best possible way!), Geoff is a well-seasoned pro. Widely travelled, he spent time working as a Lab Technician in the UK’s Public Health sector, before retraining as a Survey Technician in the 1990’s – and he hasn’t looked back since!

    With a survey career spanning nearly 30 years, he has skillfully supported firms from Northland to Canterbury. And now he’s happily sharing his survey skills with Capture clients in Christchurch.

    Loves:
    Spending time with my family. Scuba diving with my son. Watching F1 with my daughter. Brewing beer. Low n slow BBQing.

Nick Saunders

  • With a handy Drone Flight Certification and a knack for knocking in pegs, Nick knows exactly how to capture every single angle of a project!

    A Licensed Cadastral Surveyor, with over 14 years of experience, Nick loves unpacking the puzzle of defining boundaries – and gets a huge sense of satisfaction when a project is completed. And rightly so! Because whether he’s working on the tools in the field, or working out the finer details of a plan in the office – it’s his skills, experience and dedication that help bring our clients’ visions to life.

    Nick is known for being easy-going, approachable but always determined to see things done properly! That determination goes beyond the office and onto the hockey pitch, where his umpiring has guided national and international games, including the Hockey 5’s World Cup in Oman.

    Hanging out with his family; golfing, mountain biking, hiking, skiing and, of course, hockey! He’s passionate about the environment; always looking for the best ways to juggle life with a little one - and has his sights set on mastering the perfect flat white!

    In addition to being our resident wine connoisseur, Jo uses her awesome organisational skills to keep everything at Capture orderly!

  • As Capture’s Marketing Manager, Kate’s the one that makes everything we do look great. Or as she puts it “I do all the pretty stuff."

    With almost 25 years’ experience, Kate started her career as a Graphic Designer, before specialising as an Account Director for ad agencies from London to Auckland. Fun, outgoing and honest, her marketing skills have helped big brands including Land Rover, Jaguar, ASB and the All Blacks.

    Today, she’s thrilled to be working with the best brand of all, Capture! But for Kate, the real cherry on the cake is that her husband (Capture Director, Tom) is also her boss!

    Loves:
    Her boss, their two beautiful children - and drinking and eating with family and friends.
